Symmetry, dynamics and delectation are faculties that the artist should probably forswear. However, the mandala and the medallion keep tempting us to look back toward other ages and their certainties. Now everything seems up for grabs and we wonder whether hope itself shall inevitably not be enough. Simple sentience may never provide the kind of evidence that faith demands. Perhaps experience and comprehension will turn out to have been only our each and every own intention.
