A history of oscillations between nagging doubts and tentative resolutions, between moot wonder and sudden beauty. A process that has taken on a direction and momentum of its own: perhaps a vector of signs that portray the enterprise of art-making itself. As with astronomy's black holes, art seems to digress ever further into its own esoterica. However, it is still visual; it is still ongoing; it still communes with our gaze.
