COGNITO
The primitive curiosity extends itself to inquire of otherness, to explore the disparate unknown, seeking to define shape and intention, self and other exchange signs. Reciprocal fears and desires are sublimated in the mutual need for coherence. We all retain some vestige of that primal, naive, mystic conatus. Here our proposition is to recapture some degree of that innocence. Ever drawn toward the beautiful unknown, ever ready to invest its power: to reframe our aesthetic equations; to transcend the closure of familiar personae; to reinvoke the wonder of unknowing. The artist untransmogrified may come to share the viewer's strange encounter; to subsume nothing; to know again the essential moment of discovery.
